Graduate programs require a recognized university degree, and a completed application form including transcripts and references. An average grade of 60% is required for successful completion of each course.
Master of Theological Studies (M.T.S.) - 72 Credit Hours / 24 Courses
The M.T.S. is primarily oriented towards equipping individuals who wish to pursue a calling in the academic realm. It entails significant focus on Biblical studies and historical/systematic theology. Each course includes an exam and a 20 page research paper. The degree is awarded upon successful completion of 24 Courses.
Master of Theology (M.Th.) - 36 Credit Hours / 12 Courses Plus Thesis
This research degree is ideal for those who have taken the Master of Theological Studies and who desire to pursue research. This degree can serve as a stepping-stone to a doctoral degree or be a terminal research degree. Entrance into the degree is dependent on an overall B+ average or higher in the preceding degree. Each course includes an exam and a 20 page research paper. The thesis is to be around 36,000 words with an oral defense. A minimum of four courses in either Greek or Hebrew is required, as preparation for the thesis. Students who have a M.Div degree can achieve the M.Th. upon completion of 4 courses plus a thesis.
Doctor of Theology (D.Th.)
The D.Th. degree is an advanced professional research degree. Applicants for this degree must have an M.Th. or D. Min degree, 3-years post ordination ministerial experience with academic and professional recommendations. This degree requires a published dissertation of around 80,000 words with an oral defense. Currently applications are only accepted in the area of New Testament, Church History and Pastoral Theology (4 courses in a Biblical language are required).
